    Current ATPE State Officers

    Hello everyone,

We've all seen the leaders on stage during the ATPE House of Delegates (HOD) meetings and perhaps thought, I could see myself there someday. Well, that opportunity might be nearer than you realize! With nominations for the 2025-26 ATPE state officer elections due by March 15, now is the ideal time to think about whether becoming a state officer could be in your future.

To help you understand what service as a state officer might mean for your career and personal growth, we talked to several past state presidents to reflect on their journeys. Their experiences highlight how serving in a state office can be transformative and impactful, not just for the association, but for personal leadership and advocacy on behalf of Texas educators. Read more about their insights in this blog post.

Per the ATPE State Bylaws, nominations must be received by the state office by this date (or be submitted from the floor of the HOD), and to qualify, a candidate must be an active Professional, Administrator, Retired, or Associate member and must currently be serving or have served within the past five years as a local unit, region, or state officer. If you haven't thought about running for state office before, what might encourage you to pursue it in the future? We'd love to hear your thoughts!
