Hello there,
We’re thrilled to highlight Ashlyn Bergethon, a 2024 graduate of Baylor University’s School of Education and an Algebra I and Honors Algebra II teacher in Robinson ISD. Ashlyn is also a first-time professional ATPE member, and she’s already making major waves in the world of education!
During her educator preparation program, Ashlyn earned some of the highest accolades in the field: National Student Teacher of the Year from Kappa Delta Pi and the Association of Teacher Educators, and Clinical Teacher of the Year for the State of Texas by the Texas Directors of Field Experience.
Her journey into teaching started in middle school and continued to grow through meaningful experiences in high school and college. Ashlyn’s passion for math and her drive to create a safe, engaging learning environment have already left a lasting impact on her students. From gamified lessons to heartfelt classroom decor, her dedication to education shines in everything she does.
We recently had the chance to sit down with Ashlyn and hear about her path to the classroom, her love for math, and how she’s continuing to learn and grow every day. Read more about her inspiring journey and advice for future educators on atpenews.org.
Quick question: What advice would you give to someone just starting their career in education?
