President-Elect Donald Trump announces plans to close down the Department of Education and return that responsibility to the hands of the states. It's a campaign promise he ran on and one he says he'll fulfill early on in his second term. Monty Exter with the Association of Texas Professional Educators says the majority of policymaking and regulatory power with grades K-12 already exists at the state level, but says questions may exist in other areas, like federal funding. "I think that's maybe the largest question, right, is what happens to some of those federal dollars," said Exter.
