    With more than 38,000 applications originating from the region, Houston has secured the top spot for requests for Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFAs). The program, which officially launches for the 2026-2027 school year, provides families with over $10,000 annually for private school tuition, while students with disabilities can receive up to $30,000.
