North East ISD is changing its phone policy. This comes after the state threatened the district with further oversight. The district is revising the definition of what a 'school day' means. The Texas Education Agency wants the district to restrict phones from bell to bell, which means the entire school day. This updates their previous, narrower policy that allowed phone use during lunch and passing periods.
