Texas lawmakers have introduced Senate Bill 2, which aims to allocate $1 billion to provide $10,000 to each student enrolled in accredited private schools. Monty Exter, Director of Governmental Relations for the Association of Texas Professional Educators, expressed concerns about the potential misuse of funds. "Based on how its rolled out in other states, it's not going to be beneficial," he said. "In states like Florida and Arizona, we've seen some of the misuse come in where people bought kayaks, or horse-riding lessons, or big screen TV's as monitors."
