Some Humble ISD employees will be allowed to bring guns to school under a pilot school marshal program approved Tuesday by the Board of Trustees. Board members of the 48,000-student district in north Harris County voted 6-1 to introduce the school marshal program, which was created in 2013 and is overseen by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. Without this exception, it is against federal law to bring a firearm inside a school zone.
