Parents who feel a book in their child's school is inappropriate could soon have a way of having it banned across the state. The Texas House Committee on Public Education will hold a hearing on House Bill 100, which could have the effect of getting a book banned by the state board of education. The way it works right now, parents go to their local school board with their concerns of inappropriate educational materials. We have seen a lot of that, and sometimes you'll hear parents say they plan to take their concern to every school board in Texas. HB100 could create a more efficient way of doing this.
