Meet Haydee Castillo in our latest Volunteer Spotlight on ATPE News.
Castillo is a first grade teacher in Valley View ISD and the president of Valley View (1) ATPE. In the article, she shares how maintaining a visible presence on campus and communicating through multiple channels helps her local unit recruit new members and stay connected with current ones.
"We want to start the year off letting members know we exist in every way possible," Castillo says.
She also talks about the importance of building community among members through appreciation efforts and in person events. Castillo says those connections make volunteering meaningful and help members feel supported.
