In our ongoing ATPE News series, we're excited to profile Michael Sweet, a dedicated fifth-grade teacher at Zeferino Farias Elementary School in Pharr-San Juan-Alamo (PSJA) ISD and the current treasurer for PSJA ATPE. Michael was also a finalist for ATPE's 2023-24 Campus Representative of the Year Award for local units/districts with 201-500 members, a testament to his exceptional commitment to ATPE.
In this spotlight, Michael shares how he found a true sense of community through his work with ATPE, highlighting the support and camaraderie that have made a lasting impact on him. For those who are considering volunteering, Michael encourages others to take action with the simple advice: "Just do it!"-a nod to Nike's famous slogan. Michael's story is a wonderful reminder that getting involved can be incredibly rewarding, providing endless opportunities to make a difference.
We thank Michael for his invaluable contributions to both our community and his fellow educators!
